Hunter Arena Rewards: Rules & Policies
Hunters in WoW Arena
Hunters in arena should focus on staying alive and dealing damage, so they should equip with hunter arena gear that boosts their stamina as much as possible and use hunter arena weapons that do the maximum damage. The hunter must find balance between these two areas to maximize his utility in the arena. If he cannot stay alive he will die quickly and all the damage he can potentially deal becomes useless. This is especially true since hunters in arena tend to be one of the first choice targets because they can do so much damage. On the other hand if the hunter can stay alive long but can’t deal that much damage he is pretty useless as well. WoW Hunters focusing on ranged weapon damage will have an easier time staying out of the heat and will find it easier to stay alive. Getting an insignia early on is a good idea to allow the hunter to dispel mobility impairing spells and effects, so he can keep his distance instead of getting stuck and being an easier target for the opponents.
At the outset of an arena match, night elf hunters can shadowmeld so the opponents can’t see them and therefore have less time to figure out their strategy which also gives the hunter a greater chance of being able to surprise them with his pet and ranged damage. As a tauren hunter, you have war stomp as an extra ability to buy time to get away from melee attackers, thus enabling you to kite them better.
Another important factor for the arena hunter will be his talent build. It is hard to say which one is hands down the best, since this will depend on which arena is played, 2v2, 3v3, etc., and the strengths and weaknesses of the hunter’s teammates. In 2v2 Beast Mastery is a viable option since it allows the hunter to take someone down quickly with the help of the pet’s damage dealing. In the 3v3 or 5v5, Marksman hunters might fair better if they can keep their distance while doing a lot of ranged damage. And of course there are many positive aspects to choosing the survival spec. An arena hunter that can stay alive and keep dealing damage is an asset to any arena team and all in all may be the best hunter spec for gaining arena points in the World of Warcraft.
