The Gladiator's Battlegear set is entirely geared towards the hardcore arena warrior. The arena armor is not suited for Raids (PvE) so Protection warriors should respec if they want to wear this armor. Once this arena armor is donned, the warrior's stamina, attack power, and resilience is optimized for PvP combat and should be speced in Arms and Fury only, with the exception of 3 points in Tactical Mastery. In Season 3, it has been difficult for the majority of warriors to buy the arena S3 plate shoulder armor because of the required 2000 personal rating. Warriors in WoW Arena
Warriors in arenas are a force to be reckoned with. Most teams try to have at least one for damage and tanking purposes. With the right warrior arena gear and the right warrior arena weapon to help him, the warrior will have solid health and can do a whole lot of damage.
A crucial point for the arena Warrior is the specialization. A warrior's talent build can mean the difference between victory and defeat in the arena. One talent skill that is favorable for the arenas is Second Wind, which gives you a good amount of survival specialization. The longer you can survive the longer you can do damage. This is great when you are up against teams that do high dps, which is a common strategy in arenas. With the Second Wind in the arms talent tree, whenever you are struck by a stun or immobilize effect, you generate 20 rage and 10% of your health over 10 seconds. You can imagine why this would be beneficial the warrior’s strategy of staying alive in the arena.
Mortal strike is arguably the best talent for the arena warrior regardless of spec. This blow deals weapon damage plus 85 and wounds the target, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 50% for 10 seconds. Wow, damage plus reduction in the opponent’s ability to be healed – by 50%! This is a powerful spell and almost a must for the arena warrior.
Something else to remember when the warrior considers his arena strategy is his gear. Balance is the main issue. If he doesn’t have enough stamina to survive long, what good will all that attack power do? The arena warrior must find the right balance between his attack power, crtitical strike rating, his stamina, and his resilience to have his gear work to his advantage to help him win arenas and get those arena points in the World of Warcraft.
